The American entrepreneur Dismisses Spurs Acquisition Offer Following Expression of Interest
The former chairman managed Tottenham's transition to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019.
US technology mogul the entrepreneur has ruled out submitting an official acquisition offer for Tottenham.
Tottenham had earlier “unequivocally rejected” an informal expression of interest from a syndicate headed by Brooklyn Earick last month and maintained the organization was off the market.
But British acquisition regulations required that, after an expression of interest declined, Earick's consortium had to submit a bid by the October deadline or state they would not proceed.
Official word of the determination was made in a statement issued by Tottenham to the London Stock Exchange, indicating the organization is “not in an offer period.”
Earick posted an picture of the release on digital channels, adding: “I've had a honor engaging with the club and the Lewis family's delegates over the past few months.
“I hold deep admiration for the organization, its executives, and its followers, and hope for nothing but success.”
Spurs' leadership thanked the consortium for its “constructive approach” in discussions and for “respecting the clear position” of the owners that the team is not for sale.
Brooklyn Earick is a one-time music presenter who also was employed in aerospace studies for Nasa before creating his technology firm, which specializes in innovation, entertainment, athletics and entertainment.
His approach was the latest approach declined by the organization's leadership since the abrupt resignation of long-serving chairman Daniel Levy in the fall.
Earlier in September, the team rejected approaches from former Newcastle United shareholder Amanda Staveley's PCP International Finance Limited and a syndicate spearheaded by Dr Roger Kennedy and Ng through the holding company.
The former chairman and his household own about a significant stake of Enic Holdings – which has an majority shareholding in the club.
He was the English top flight's top-tenured leader and is reported to have made over ÂŁ50 million during his nearly 25 years in the role.
But he was also the target of regular protests by Spurs fans, especially last term as home competition outcomes turned out disappointing.
Spurs secured their initial silverware in nearly two decades when they beat United in last season's European final.
