Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft flying above a well-attended southern California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling out of control, finally dropping height and crashing into a line of palm fronds as beachgoers watched.
Videos uploaded online capture the chopper beginning to twirl over the beach then falling in the direction of the border of the beach, where it ends up lodged between palm groves and a staircase near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five people were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” after the incident on Saturday.
Three persons on the road were harmed. Specifics on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
